Though… that said, I still haven’t found Eraser-kun. Actually, I haven’t seen him since FurCon, so I suspect he may have been left behind or misplaced at some point (along with the cover to my exacto knife, eek!). Sad, ’cause I really like the sakura erasers. However, I KNOW I have some MAGIC RUB erasers somewhere, ’cause Jeff got me a whole box a while back… it’s just buried under all of the unpacked moving boxes. So, I went and got some White Pearl erasers and they’re working pretty well, which is easing me back into my workflow. I dunno what it is… sometimes all I can draw in is ball-point pen. Others, it’s digital only. Lately, it’s been mechanical pencil or bust. Hence the need for erasers, since I typically draw with 0.3 or 0.5 drafting pencil.

Speaking of which, I should get my art/craft room/studio set up. The art desk is in there, but it’s got moving boxes on it. I just need to spend a few hours moving crap out and getting things set up. Then I could get a nice, bright working lamp and go to town! Maybe I could even paint. Springtime always makes me want to paint huge canvases. It’s been soooo loooong since I’ve painted… wah, why are canvases so expensive? Maybe I should get a huge melamine board instead?!

One of the reasons that I’m so far behind is ’cause my tooth has been causing me some crazymajor pain and extra EXTRA sleep deprivation. Fortunately, I went and saw a dentist a week ago that hooked me up with better painkillers and an antibiotic, which has helped immensely. I still need to get two extractions and a root canal + all of the trimmings, but hey, I can eat and sleep now without breaking down and sobbing, so that’s definitely an improvement!

And the anime… well, you can always tell when I’m getting all stressed/depressed because of the percentage of Conan/cats in my sketchbook. Normally, it’s at 30%, but then it starts to rise…. …

Another late comic! ARGH. Sorry, guys. January-March is the hardest time for me. I get Seasonal Affective Disorder something awful in the dead of winter, and it makes everything in life so, so much harder. And there’s so many people out there in charge of our lives who just don’t understand depression at ALL. It takes a ton of effort just to get out of bed in the morning, much less get everything done that I need to. I feel terribly for not being on top of everything right now, but I’m not giving up! I am fighting every moment! I WILL BEAT IT.

…especially when winter is over and the sun comes out and there is life everywhere and it’s not freezing and dark all the time. Seriously, I need to move. Though I guess this happens pretty much everywhere for some people. UGhh life… LIFE IS SO HARD SOMETIMES.

Also, you may notice that this isn’t a Valentine’s update and I didn’t do any Valentine’s Day cards this year. That is because I am far too tired to deal with it. Sad, but true. Maybe later.

Ahem, so. In our non-existent free time, Aaron has been trying to get me into Minecraft! It’s fun! I have been chopping wood and gathering some sugar cane, and I learned how to make mushroom soup which stops me from starving to death. Day time doesn’t last nearly long enough, though, and while the night is very pretty, it’s also terrifying. I mean, I knew about the creepers because, come on, I’m on the internet… but then there are the endermen thingies and GIANT SPIDERS and zombies and stuff?! What!?! I have a lot to learn. The only thing I really know how to build is… planks. As in, taking wood that I’ve chopped and turning them into… wood planks. Uhh. Which I then turn over to Aaron so he can actually do stuff with them. But I only barely started playing, so I’m sure I’ll learn!

Uhhmmm so… There… we go.

Okay, so, SOON FOR REAL… there will be an ARTIST BOOTCAMP by me. Also, CAMPFIRE. I just need to… like… get caught up on a few things first. Like commissions. Also, where is my eraser? Or my box of erasers? HMMM.

Furcon was pretty much amazing. It was the first furry convention I’ve ever sold at, and it definitely won’t be the last. It’s a lot different than anime cons, though. At those, I mostly sell buttons like crazy cakes, a few prints, and maybe one or two commissions. At FC, it was the complete opposite… TONS of commissions, a handful of prints, and a few buttons. So this con was a lot more work than other ones, but I also made more money because commissions are more expensive. My arm hasn’t quite forgiven me for it, yet, though… and I have a couple from the con to still finish up and mail out. Man, those clingy badges are so fun to do, though! And everyone has such cute characters! I’ll be posting those in the next few days, when I finish up the last that I have… probably make a gigantic post with all of them.
